If its like my son they will give him a sedative and hook him up to an MRI machine and get a brain wave scan, its painless and takes 20-30 minutes. Then they took his blood, which was harder because he was starting to come out of the sedative and he fought them. But it was over quick. Then you just have to stick around until he is 100% awake and feeling fine, it took about 2 hours from the time we checked in to when we went home.

the hard part is waiting 2 weeks for all the results from the MRI and blood work to come in. Good luck!

Depending on the age of your son, every state has services available to help with developmental delays. Here in Texas they have Early Childhood Intervention that is through age 3, then there are several after age 3 depending on the type of delay.

There is little to no cost depending on different social/economical factors.

I used to do marketing for the local ECI & know how effective treatment can be if caught early. Most programs will also help teach the parents/caregivers how to deal with any delays.

He should probably have a Intelligence test, and a Vineland. Start seeing a psychologist now.
