Scott The Piano Guy books are great!! He plays and teaches completely by playing with chords and that is how I learned to play as well, it's way easier and quicker to have fun playing and sound great right away and makes it easy to improvise and play with others. He also has a show on public TV, google it and you'll find tons of info.

The chord on the piano and guitar are the same as far as I'm concerned. I play both guitar and keyboard and after using the link you supplied can say that those chords work with both. The only difference I can see on the chords shown on the ultimate-guitar site is the capo on fret three. In order for the keyboard notes to sound the same key as the guitar you will have to transpose the chords up three steps (use the provision they include on the site). I suggest that if you write down the individual notes that make up each chord on the guitar, you will then be able to play these on the keyboard. If you don't want to do that then leave the capo off and play it in the key of G. Hope this makes sense, regards DC.

There are several resources online, but let me first start with books:
The Piano Adventures Adult series is a great tool for the beginning piano student. Much of this book you can teach yourself! Here's a website to help you learn more about the series:
http://www.fjhmusic.com/piano/apa.htm
I recommend it highly!

Websites: Try http://www.musictheory.net , http://www.looknohands.com/chordhouse/piano/ , http://www.pianoworld.com/fun/vpc/piano_chords.htm , http://nfo.net/MFILE/

If you are interested in finding yourself a piano teacher check out these sites: www/pianoteachers.com or www.musicstaff.com

Good luck!

When I play piano, I think of a song and play by ear. I keep using different notes until I find the right one.

C comes before the two black keys, which you will learn latter. A is two keys to the left of C. It goes from A-G. That is the major majors. Then you will learn your minors, flats, and sharps. I suggest taking a collge music course or buying a music book. You could also go to the public library or look online. Just check around.

i think if you really want to play the piano, you need to take lessons. that's how i started, and if it's a good place, they'll probably tell you if it's even worth it.
