Your perceived slur was ****** out so I don't know if it was even a slur. You can pursue ANY matter legally if you live within the laws of the United States. Whether you win or not is another story. Think about it very hard. Was it this official's intent to insult you to the point of creating an uncomfortable work environment or are you just being oversensitive? Also, was this official in an exempt management position that was superior to your position and able to negatively affect your employment?

I'm a white man, 54 and overweight. I also have had 3 back surgeries so I have lifting restrictions. I was working as a materials manager when my boss, the division manager came to me with a couple of his cronies, one a non-exempt worker and told me that he wanted me to lose 30 pounds. I was shocked and asked why. He responded that my restrictions where set at 30 pounds and he needed for me to be able to lift 60 and that if I lost 30 pounds that would up my restrictions. He was making fun of me of course and it was humiliating. He was Black, 20 years younger than me with less education. What was my chances of taking any real action against him? None. Sometimes you just have to ignore ignorance and move forward.

Good Luck

It depends on what ****** stands for! And just how PUBLIC it was! If you heard about it from a co-worker and only 1 person then no probably not since the company official can deny the remark. But if he said it in a meeting with 10 people present and ****** is bad then yes you could seek an atty advise.

what does that ***** stand for ? what N!gger ? I don't know what he called you to be able to explain correctly to you. You have documentation ? proof ? to be able to pursue this in a legal matter you need documentation, material evidence. Do you have either ? if not then no you can't go foward with the claim.

Well yeah, you could, but it sounds like a waste of time. I've been called "white trash" and "cracker" by black people before and I've never sued anyone.
