If you're gay and try to turn yourself straight you will never be happy. You're going to be with someone you're not fully attracted to. I'm not saying you won't appriciate that person and I'm not saying you won't care for that person but you won't be able to love that person the way they deserve to be loved because you won't be fully involved.

It's not possible to "become gay" if you are basically straight...so how does one go about changing their sexual orientation? Some therapists and religious organizations (like Exodus) think they can help people to change (if that person is really motivated to do so). I believe a gay person might be able to control his sexual desires and behavior (through abstinence) but he/she will never be completely attracted to or satisfied by someone of the opposite gender.

Passable, but not plausible.
You can PRETEND to be straight, but you can't actually BECOME straight...there's no such thing as an "ex-gay." No matter how hard those places tell you so.

To ask such a thing indicates you have doubts as to choice is a factor in orientation. Of course, it is not. Consider Ted Haggard, and that other Co pastor dude whose name excapes me. But of course that is black and white and sexuality covers the entire crayola box of colors.
Personally, I don't understand bisexuality. Dont get me wrong, I used to think those people were selfish but now I think, dayum, those people, if they can handle it, are lucky. Getting turned on by the best of both worlds. Wow, I still don't understand it but imagine the erotic night sweats!

No more possible than it would be for you to become a centaur or a unicorn. Of course you could use crazy glue and attach a single horn to your forehead, but inside, where it counts, you'd still be who you are. Your energies would be better spent accepting that fact and moving on with your life.

I don’t think people “become” anything… gay or straight. You are who you are, no matter your sexual preference; which I believe is fluid like water, not set in stone.

you may be able to surround yourself by the opposite sex and become a little attracted to them, but i don't think there is a way to remove your homosexuality. besides be proud of who you are!
