We had an energy crisis in the 1970's and it was a mess. The government then lowered the speed limit to help conserve fuel. We then saw an increase in the sales of economical cars. Then the auto manufactures started pushing suv's and pickups... and people bought them like crazy. We know oil will run out one day, but people keep on buying these vehicles, even when it's just one person driving it 50 miles to work. It's always me, me me. What about the future generations?

I'm guessing you own a bike or do a lot of walking. I'm on your side about the economy's' thirst for fuel consumption, however I do own a SUV and use it regularly to car pool five kids and haul around band equipment. Would you suggest I get a horse and wagon or what? Since YOUR not a selfish person, maybe you should send me one of those buses that run on cooking oil or something.

I need a truck... Makes it easier to run over your Yugo.

OK, now that you've clarified... You're right. Hummers are the biggest waste of resources ever conceived by man. Their owners are clearly trying to compensate for something.

Hey, I drive an SUV. It's a 4 cylinder. Just like your CAR. Just because it's SUV doesn't mean it guzzles gas.

I agree with you. Here's what else I dislike - they act like they own the road! I think they purposely drive like a$$es because they think they can get away with it since they're bigger than you. Grr....
