Why don't you just buy the program. I spend £50GBP per year on Internet Security Products. McAfee are a business, they create excellent software and deserve to be paid for their software.

You can't. You must pay online per there site or buy a 1 year prescription through Best Buy or any other such store. I've tried to get it free from on-line with no success. Sorry. McAfee is the best and thus you must pay.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.
besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

I brought it, but I don't use it anymore. Perhaps you could try AVG Free. It's good.
