Okay, so this New Year's I'm heading to a semi-swanky bar/lounge party. I'm deciding between two outfits: 1) a knee-length, low cut, flowy red dress and tall black boots, and 2) cream colored capris, a black halter top, black pin up heels, and lots of sparkly jewelry. BUT I have no idea what to do with my hair. It's long (almost to the waist), blonde, very fine, with side-swept bangs. Most of the girls who will be there are the rich, perfect, plastic type..and I'm not! But I do want to look and feel great!! Any hair style suggestions??

So it turns out my capris will not be out of the dry cleaners in time...so the red dress it is! I'm not worried about the boots making me look "cut in half" as someone warned...I'm 5'8" and it's ALL legs. Still stuck on the hairstyle though...

I'd go the capri way with your outfit and wear your hair up in a high pony tail with a section of your hair wrapped around the band to hide it. If you can do this yourself great...otherwise I suggest the hair dresser does it. You'll look 'on trend' and super sexy!

Go girl!

First off please don't wear a knee length skirt with tall boots, it will cut you in half and make you like you have no legs.

For the hair, i would go dramatic and cut it to shoulder length with a few layers thrown in for some volume and movement, keep the side sweeping fringe though.

Or if cutting it is not the option, loose curls always work

Just put a slight (loose) wave in it and medium hold hairspray.. the simple elegance will make you look just as classy as anyone in the room, overdoing it would be your worst mistake in my opinion. Also I'd go with the the suit I think - sounds really cute!

well when my hair was that long (boo hoo!) i loved wearing it down and curly! i think it looks so lovely! your hair should stay up but practise now to get it just right! as for the rich plastic type, chances are they are not perfect! they probably just have more time!!he he! just make sure you are lovely and sweet to everyone because no-one can fake that for long and people will love you instantly! x

I'd sweep it all up into a bun, very elegant...worn with drop earrings, it looks stunning.

But, you could also try a side low, ponytail, and wear over one shoulder, and curl sections of it. It looks really good.

And I'm sure you'll look perfect-go dazzle 'em all.

I would recommend something retro to put all these awful snotty women's noses out, a mullet perhaps?
But seriously, you sound as if you have lovely hair, a little bit of work on it and you will be OK. If these women get catty, give them a faceful of fist right on their snotty noses, you know you want to!

I would suggest either straightening it with GHD straighteners, or use a wavey style by flicking up the ends of your hair with curlers, for proper style you should ask a local hair dresser for tips.

Yes. Put it back with the front raised a little. i would say the best thing would be to see if you can get into the hairdressers tomorrow.
