1 dram = 60 grains
8 drams = 1 ounce
1 dram = 3 scruples
60 grains / 3 scruples = 20 grains
The answer is 20 grains.

They're just called math puzzles that test your logic.

These are called unit conversions. For example

1 ft= 12 inches and 3 ft= 1 yard. How many inches are in 4 yards.

12in x 3 ft x 4 yd
------ ------ -------- = 144 inches in 4 yards
1 ft x 1 yd x ? in

The units cancel each other out, feett for feet and yard for yard until you are left with inches. Then you just multiply it out.

Try it with other conversions, like yards to centimeters. 1 inch = 2.54 cm

1 yd x 1 ft x 1in
------ ------ ----- = 1 yd = 91.44 cm
3 ft x 12 in x 2.54cm
