We are supposed to find out how much people know about our country. It is for homework. Just say everything you know about the Czech Republic. Please don't do any research, just say what you know, or say you've never heard of it before. If you could include your nationality in the answer, it would be very helpful.
Thanks.

I have been there twice, but only in Prague.

The city is divided in four parts. The Castle District, The Lesser Town, the Old Town and the New Town.

The Castle District, with the Tuscan Palace (17th century), the Plague Column the Loreta Church, the Santa Casa, a representation of the house in which according to tradition the Virgin Mary was born, St. Vitus Cathedral.

The Royal Palace, the famous Charles Bridge with 30 fantastic statues and where young people of the whole world meet.

The Lesser Quarter or Little Quarter with Saint Nicholas Church.

and the New Town with the Winceslas Square all the main hotels and the National Museum.

The Old Town with the Bridge Tower, The Town Hall, the Astronomical Clock (people wait here to see the apostles come out every hour on the hour) Church of Our Lady of Tyn. The Carolinum with the Charles University, the Theatre of the Estates where Mozart´s Opera Don Giovanni had its first ever performance.

The Jewish Quarter with Town Hall, Synagogues, the Ceremonial Hall with a collection of children´s art (all made while in the Theresienstadt concentration camp), the Old Jewish Cementery, the house of Franz Kafka.

It is beautiful, amazing and there is so much to see. I could tell you much more, but I think is enough. I saw it all, did it all.
I almost forgot I am Dutch but born in Perú.

I don't know much except that it is very beautiful. I think it was once part of the Soviet Union. I had a teacher who escaped during the communist takeover, he told me his homeland was beautiful but he didn't tell me specifics.
