Have you installed any software recently? You may have accidentally removed an important DLL file in the process. Try re-installing the software you uninstalled. If that doesn't work, find out the name of the DLL file. If your friend's computer uses the same Operating System as yours, ask the friend to send you a copy of the DLL file. The friend can use a search to find the file.

Do a virus scan and if nothing else solves the problem, insert your Operating System CD and choose the repair option.

If that fails, back up all your data and re-install your Operating System from scratch.

Viruses can mess up DLLs. Removing programs can also accidentally delete DLLs that other programs need too.
