Native American Indian beliefs about owls?
I had one land on my house. I startled me when I first saw it. I knkew that couldn't be good.
What is the meaning? Good? Bad? I would like to know.

I can't speak for other tribes, but in the Navajo culture, owls are bad omens. When you see or hear an owl, it means someone is either already dead or going to die.

Another source says, "In the culture of many Native Americans, (e.g. the Native American Hopi nation), taboos often surround owls and they are often associated with evil or sorcery."
