Does anyone have full info on how to fully set up Animal Crossing Wi-Fi?

Question

I have tried 2 or 3 times to set up Wi-Fi at a hotspot, but I can't get it to work. Do I need to exchange friend codes with people, or can they just come to my town if I give them my friend code and open my gate? I need as much info as anyone can give me on how to set it up.

1. On the menu of the game go to Other things.

2. Then go to Wi-Fi settings. It will then ask you that you must be connected to Nintendo wifi.

3. Choose Start. You will be taken to the Nintendo wifi Connection Setup menu.

4. Tap on the blue box that says "nintendo connection settings". There will be 3 boxes to set up a Connection, it dosen't matter wich one you tap, just tap one.

5. Then you will be taken to another menu, tap the box that says "Search for Access Point. It will then search for an access point. It should only take a couple of seconds. If you are sucessful, there will be some connections open. Tap the one with the blue open lock. The connection will be saved and then tested.

6. If you are sucessfull, go back to the menu. Continue and go to the main gate. Ask Copper for your friend code. (Maybe he tells you that you have to connect again in order to get your friend code) do it!
