You are having thermal shut downs. You need to improve airflow. ALWAYS use your laptop on a hard surface (i.e. Table top without a table cloth). Targus makes a plastic folding thingy that elevates the machine for more airflow. NEVER run the laptop on your lap or on a rug or anything that can block the air vents, which are on the bottom and sides. Also you don't mention how old the machine is, but if you can or know someone who can open it up and clean the heatsink fins. They may be clogged with dust and what not. I've seen it so badly clogged, it looked like a sweater on it.

longer u use ur labtop, the hotter it gets, then fan will spin more to compensate for the extra heat and will try to cool it down. Eventually the heat will become too much and the system will shut its self down to prevent any damage

I suggest getting a special labtop cooler to use. DO u use ur albtop on ur desk? or lap or on the go?

Try removing the battery and just running off the power supply. Bad batteries can heat up.
