Even after a full night's rest I feel so tired waking up in the morning! It normally takes me 3-4 hours after I've woken up to feel "awake". Then like at 6-7pm I'll feel really energetic and have trouble going to sleep. Does anyone have any ideas on how to feel energetic in the morning? How about feeling rested? Thanks to all and have a happy new year's!

Are you sure you are really sleeping soundly? I have read there are "phases" you go thru before you are actually in a deep sleep. You go thru a "dream" stage, I think it is called REM. If you don't progress past that stage, you are not getting a good nights sleep. It maybe that you have unresolved issues during the day or too much going on in your daily life. I would check with my doctor. Maybe a simple as a vitamin deficiency.

Sounds like me and my situation.

I suffer some SAD, which is a component of circadian rhythm disorder.

I've had this for the past 3 years.

Its basically when your "master clock" is out of sync, or a few hours off. Only way I can explain it is, when I wake up in the morning at 8 or 9, it's like the normal person who wakes up at 8 or 9 waking up at 2 or 3 to start the day. People often say, your sleeping schedule is off. But no matter how hard I try it won't work I get my energy late at night when the normal person gets there's in the afternoon. I get mine a 11 or 12 which makes it impossible for me to get to sleep on time with out medication. So, maybe you suffer from this. You know an estimated 80 Million North Americans suffer from it.
