I totally agree with you. And not only does it dehumanize women, it objectifies human sexuality as well. Sexuality is turned into a commodity, something to be bought and sold, and thus becomes bastardized, a poor, pathetic imitation of it's true self. It removes all of the true passion, personal connection, and true joy from sexuality and replaces it with empty titillation. Women are reduced to little better than vibrating blow up dolls, with movable parts, and men are cash machines to be manipulated out of a few dollars. EVERYONE is objectified. As far as the whole "But strippers can make a lot of money" thing...VERY few make REALLY good money. I always ask, "Have you ever met a rich stripper?" and the answer is always "No." In fact, MOST live just above the poverty line, and most have to "medicate" in order to even "perform," with drugs or alcohol, because of the dehumanizing aspect of the job. And far as being "empowering" for women, what's so "empowering" about being viewed as less than human? Because THAT'S how they are seen (and the men as well). REAL "power" is not the ability to get a man's attention by shaking your ***, real power is being viewed as a whole and complete human being, with something more to offer to society than a jiggling pair of breasts. Women may feel powerful because of the false sense of validation they receive, but it is an illusion. And men learn to view female sexuality as "separate" from the individual. These girls aren't really "people," but objects to provide empty stimulation...I mean, let's face it, they're not going there for the camaraderie and stimulating conversation, right? If strippers were suddenly seen as "human," then the whole illusion would be broken.

Believe it or not, (despite all the women's rights preaching), women are ACTUALLY different than men.
Sure, stripping feeds the primeval side of men and be demoralizing, but it's a fact of the nature of humans. Women are beautiful and soft, men admire such things.
I've been to strip clubs here in the US and abroad. MOST of the time, they are in it because they have a kid to feed and can't get money other ways. Sure, they can work at McD's for minimum wage and make and make $50 a day (est 8hr day). Or...Strip for about $300-$500 per night (2-4 hours).

Actually, it demoralizes men. Women are the ones in control from one end to the other at these establishments. The men come, spend money, then go home broke and horny. Who just got took here. Most of the work I do is through strip clubs and the one thing these women are NOT is week. They hustle, talk good game, and on top of everything else, it's a job just like any other job.
What they do is no different than performance artists that do nude work, or a top named actress earning $20 million for doing showing her **** in a movie (but don't worry, it fit the artistic nature of the film). My question back to you is this - why is there such a social stigma surrounding nudity? When did the body become ugly? All you have to do is remove all the oppressive, "so-called moral" crap, and what are you left with....Even better.....what is the difference between your hand and your vagina or a man's knee and his penis? Answer.....nothing, but this moral stigma that we put on it.

I agree with u in almost everything, but (Im not starting a war here) 90% of the strippers do it cause the want it, is easy money and dont need any kind of education, so the biggest enemy are the womans that choose to go for the easy way, not the guys that like to see that.
NOW the problem is the other 10% the girls that have to strip because some pimp promise her to take her out to other country and work as a model there, specially Japan and other European countries, where the lie to 3rd world girls, with promises of money and fame, then they sell those girls as a sex slaves.
If u want to be a fem-nazi do it against those type of slavery.
"Men go there so that they can say and do things that they can't say and do to respectable women"
well then, if u go to a race, if u go to a dinner or any event, you act the way u are suppose to act, if u go to a strip bar where sex is the currency... well I hope i make my point.

first, you don't want to be considered equal, you want to be paid equal and still be considered women. men can't make half the comments we make to each other in fear of upsetting a woman who will get us fired for "harrassment." Do you enjoy a man holding a door open or opening a car door or allowing you to order first or many other things women enjoy. If you REALLY want to be treated equal, don't complain that a man doesn't treat you like a lady.
To answer your question, no stripping isn't demoralizing. it is a social thing that men do to relax and give us something to think about when you are "tired" or have a "headache"

Well, I believe that the PEOPLE who do it are already demoralized, stripping just makes it worse. Men are demoralized by it also. Its' sickening and it is wrong, but because people don't know how much they're worth(due to lifes' and societys' harsh circumstances) that is what happens.

I think strippers demoralize men more than women we're the ones who throw away mass amounts of cash to a naked woman who is just teasing us and turning us on but really brings no sexual pleasure. I've gone to strip bars and watched friends throw away half their paycheck because some half naked hottie comes sits on our laps while we have a drink and then when she gets on stage and they see the whole show they would sign over the pink slip to their car just to spend the night with her. Again and again I try to tell them she's showing attention to their money not them. I still enjoy the show being a big fan of the female body but I don't like spending loads of money on her unless I care about her.

Hi there lo
I'm my opinion stripping does not demoralize women
the phrasing of your question leads me to believe that you have never met a stripper, having spent time with strippers in strip clubs and outside of the working environment have found them to be some of the most empowered and self confident women I have known, and as for the reason I occasionaly go to these clubs it is for the same reason I go to art gallerys and museums I appreciate beauty, I have never seen a stripper treated with anything less than respect by guests (could be the bouncers) men do not scream and shout obcenitys at the girls we just want to sit quietly and admire the girls, unlike women at male strip shows. and as for lifelong stigma if you are unable to see past someones past career then perhaps you are the one who needs to broaden your horizons

I am a woman and have been to a couple strip clubs.
Have you seen how much money those women make?
If that is what they choose to do for a living, what is so wrong with that?
They are just using what they have available to them to make a living. If anything I feel sorry for some of those guys that give them all that cash just to get some attention from a naked woman.

I don't like the danger involved in this type of business. Oh an it is not for a "little" green. It is some "BIG" green. It is so enticing to earn fast cash. I considered it a few years back because my ex evolved into this crack monster overnight. I had to leave his butt and take my 2 girls (2 and 3) with me. I was a stay home mom and had no idea what I was going to do. Anyway, I couldn't do it. Having nasty old ugly fat bald men hitting on me was more than I could do. We all turned out fine and that's one less issue from my past to deal with anyway.
