It appears to be a Sony specific format. It doesn't even seem to be available anymore. Maybe it will burn in a Sony DVD burner.
It's possible your drive and/or burner software will be able to figure out how to burn the media to its capacity. You could give it a try at least. If it fails, the discs aren't likely to be much use to you (or most anyone else), esp. given the current cost per byte of DVD-R media.
Considering the DDCD was not popular, and uses different track spacing and pit size, it might not work in a given burner or with a given burning software.

Sony CRX200E
The DDCD format agreed by Sony and Philips was announced July 2000, this drive is the first which can read/write at the new double density level. Not a format used by many.

sure, with good software you may convert any video clips to video DVD and burn on cd-rw disc, for sure the dvd disc is the further effective than cd disc, like i'm utilizing RZ DVD author, it would want to right now convert any video clips to video DVD and burn to any CD&DVD disc(CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc). you may yahoo or google search for RZ DVD author and receive it, basic to apply, wish those information can help you.

double density disc have larger storage capability's and yes you can burn them with a DVD burner

no they are not dvd's but 2 sided cd's you can burn music and data on either side

it just means that you can burn on both sides..and any dvd-r can burn cds also
