You can't. You're lucky to get one at 15, but why do you want one at 13? She probably doesn't like the idea of her "baby" showing off her stomach to people and that's the only reason to have one b/c what's the point of getting one that no one else is going to see???

Just wait until you're 15. That's a reasonable age to get one. I wanted my tongue pierced at 13 and I had to wait until I was 17 so 15 is lucky! The thing is, you have to clean belly rings so they don't get infected and take care of them. Also, there is the possibility of it ripping out. That doesn't happen too often, but at 13, you should still be playing and that means it can happen...trust me...it hurts! Mine ripped COMPLETELY out (in a car wreck) but that's not something you'd like to happen. Just be patient and it'll come in time.

One thing that could help (even though I'd never let my 13 year old daughter get it done) is to be more responsible around the house. Show a good attitude, clean up when you're not told...and that means stuff you usually don't have to clean up. Do extra stuff and show that you are responsible and she may think you're old enough to get it done...maybe at 14?

One last thing...don't get rebellious and pierce it yourself or go to some shady place. Both are bad ideas and I've done the first one. It hurts and it's not worth it!

ok so if your mom already agreed to you getting a belly ring then just wait till 15. Its just 2 years away concidering you just turned 13. And maybe by the time you turn 15 you may not want it anymore. Have you done any research on it. Did you know that its easy to get it infected and it smells really bad if it does. You'll have gross nasty crap coming out and for what, cause you thought it was cool or all your friends have it....poo poo wait till your old enough or just until when your mom thinks you can have one.

Don't get it done at all, belly rings are not only a fashion mistake (lower back tattoos are passe aswell) but a physical mistake.... please just don't do it.... I'm 14 and last year (2005) I wanted mine done. One of my close friends had hers pierced and it got terribly infected. In the end she took the barbel out to let it just close over, but instead it swelled up and got worse. Now she has a gross lumpy scar over her belly button. True story... and you don't want that to happen. Also, when you think about it, they DO look kinda trashy. As for your mum and her decision, you can't "make" her do anything, if she changes her mind, she changes her mind - end of story.

Please reconsider. Leave your belly button unblemished. I'm sure it's perfect just the way it is without a bit of metal shoved through.

You can't make your mom let you get it sooner. Just wait the 2 years and if you still want to get it done get it done. I had to wait until I was 16, no peircing place would even look at me until then and even then I had to get parent permission! Haha and now I wish that I never got it done cause I end up getting it caught on everything, Just wait until your 15 and decide then if you really want to get it done. At 13 you just change your mind way to much, at least I know I always did.

Well, you could try and find compromising pictures of her, and using a little blackmail....

Or you could face the fact that your Mom has set a reasonable limit.

A couple of things to think about: 1) piercings don't always work out as nicely as the one's you see on celebrities. For every 3 good piercing I have see (and I've seen quite a few), I've seen one that ended up with an infection, scarring or tearing. None of those things are great, so waiting until you are 15 may make some sense.
2) People often change their minds about things very quickly. Piercings and tattoos are something that lots of people regret almost immediately after they get them.

Remember those beanie babies that you just HAD to HAVE....

How about the "Tickle me Elmo", Christmas just wouldn't have been Christmas without it.

Like all fads, the belly ring may be here to stay, or in 2 years will be passe' and only freaks and geaks will admit to ever having one. So give it a couple years and see what happens then.

Once my mom said I could NEVER have a piercing (besides my ears).. She said it looked nasty and not clean.. One day, she just changed her mind and I got my nose pierced.. The point is: Mom´s change minds.. Maybe you should remember her, that it is probably not going to stay there forever, that you will take it when you are older.. promise her to be responsible and clean it every day.. tell her you won´t go out with those small outfits just to show it around (show it when you to to the beach) :D

You can't. You should consider yourself lucky that she is going to let you at 15... I sure as heck wouldn't. You're 13... you shouldn't be showing off your belly anyway. You can't "make" your mother do something she knows is wrong. Start acting a little more mature... whining about it sure isn't going to help.

True beauty is on the inside, not looped through your belly button.

Why do you want a belly ring anyway? Is that what's going to make you more popular? More pretty? Are you going to like it 10 years from now? Are you even going to like it 5 years from now? What about next month? Is this just something you want because everyone else has one, or is it something you truly want for yourself?

To be honest belly rings look trashy, unattractive, and cheap.
