I am male to female transsexual myself,

The simple answer although i know not the one you want is that only you know. You do not decicde to be transsexual, for me it is not fun and frankly i wish i weren't.

But I cannot live as male, so if this is true of you too then i would say that you are transsexual. But if there is any doubt then you really must think hard. i have no doubt, but it is not an easy life. Anything but, in fact it mainly brings pain and heart ache.

Just make sure you don't just decide, but know either way. Afterall once you have told everyone and started taking hormones there really isn't any going back.

It if you have to ask, then you are not sure and not yet strong enough to deal with the consequences. Are you ready to lose most of your family and friends? Are you ready to risk losing your job? Are you ready for the bigotry and discrimination that will follow?

I strongly recommend that you...1) Talk to a trained therapist who specializes in gender issues and 2) join some groups and clubs and talk to others who feel the way you do.

Besides that, 'becoming a trasexual' is a long, long road. Have you seen an endocrinologist about taking HRT yet? Have you had you blood workup yet? Have you discussed your decision with family and friends? They should at least know what is going on, even if their opinion does not count. How will you tell your boss and co-workers?

There are a LOT of questions that need to be addressed and answered first. Do not go into it blindly. Once on HRT, if you develop breasts, they DO NOT go away if you change your mind. If you have SRS, you cannot grow a penis back if you change your mind.

Think, plan, talk, discuss and find a reliable therapist to talk with.

Only your heart knows for sure. In many states, part of the transition process towards SRS includes that you must live full time, that is 24/7/365 as a woman. That means technically speaking, being a crossdresser for a year.

This way you will know if you are a Transsexual and are ready for life altering surgery. For many, this is not for them, while for others, it brings about a whole new and wonderful way of life, for them.

The road is a long one towards the final goal. But it is one that will tell you if you are ready or not. Like I said in my opening remarks, only your heart knows for sure.

the only person who has that answer is you and you alone. if you need to ask the question i think you are not ready , but ! you have to have a psychological evaluation b4 you do this don't you ? and if you are not sure then they wont go ahead with the op . please take you're time thinking this through weigh all the pros and cons about having this done don't think its possible to have it put back on once its removed.
So think carefully, long and hard b4 you take that fin-all step hope you reach the decision you want and hopefully 2007 will be a good year for you what ever happens best of luck

You make a firm statement like "I know I should be a woman", so i assume that you are not confussed about that fact, however, if you need to ask whether you should "go for it", then maybe you need a little more time. I don't doubt the outcome, as together with your statement and it is rather telling, your last comment "to become who i know i should be" in that i am sure it is what you really want. the issue here is only time. I think you will know when you are ready yourself.

Like you I knew since I was 14 that I should have been born a female. I am now 54 don't wait as long as me. And don't let anyone Doctor, head shrink, ect talk you out of what you know you are on the inside.
I am in the process of going through the change now. Good luck to you and you can contact me if you want. You can always bounce your questions of me.

Asking the question means that you are not ready for the snip darling. You seem to want this but your not quite sure that you would be happy with the result. Maybe the person that you so desperately want to become is the person you are wright now. Take a look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself I LOVE YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE.

You should go to a therapist who specializes in gender dysphoria. It is a long road to becoming post-op transgendered and therapy is the first step. A qualified therapist will be able to help you find your answer, if the answer is "no" then you will be secure in yourself. If the answer is "yes" than you will already have begun the process! Good Luck Honey - and much love for you.

Be whatever you want... This is your life and you hold the key of your own life and your life only.... No one can touch you. Don't be afraid of what people say or think about you.. Just express yourself. And try to be happy with yourself, whatever you are now. You need to be completely happy with your own self... no matter what kind of sexuality you are. And you are worthy as whatever you are. Do it. Don't hesitate...
Live life without regret... but never be afraid to live life or you will regret it....
