Because Saddam was contained until Bush made him our problem,,after his own cronies sold him weapons of mass destruction in the 80's Bush wanted to go invade his country and get them back,,Bush is a pathetic moron.

It has never been claimed that Saddam controlled terrorists. He was contained after the Gulf War, most of his resources went to rebuilding his country. Prior to that, he was involved in wars against Iran, he didn't have time for this U.S.

He thought he did, but his military were scared to death of the US and didn't fight. Entire battalions raised their hands and surrendered instead of fighting. Saddam did not have the loyalty of his people, so they wouldn't fight for him.
