Why did you start your question with "Why do conservatives"?

For the same reason liberals always start their questions with "why do conservatives always..."?
1) Neither statement is true. Only SOME libs & cons start their questions like that.
2) Generalizing like that is easier than thinking. Sir Joshua Reynolds was right.

Because "liberal" has been turned into a provocative buzzword that triggers the seething resentment in the dittoheads. It's like a bat signal they shine in the sky to signal other idiots to descend on the topic like a pack of vultures.
By the way, the term neo-conservative was coined by conservatives themselves to differentiate between true conservative values and the nation-building, giant government, faith-based government of Bush Jr. There is a difference between traditional conservatives and neo-conservative. Ask any authentic old-school conservative and they'll be happy to spell it out for you.
Basically if you blindly support Bush, you are probably a neo-conservative.
If you have been a Republican for years but you are disgusted by the direction the party has taken, there is a good chance you are a traditional conservative.

Why do those with an severe standpoint "consistently" generalize about the different standpoint, ask questions like do "why do all liberals consistently" and "why do all conservatives consistently", and fail to note of there's a spectrum of political reviews? To discredit all perspectives from the different aspect. even if those perspectives have benefit.
