Does anyone know if there are energy saving (i.e CFL) flush to ceiling, indoor spot lights for a kitchen???

have to change the whole fitting and not just the lamps.

Yes there are dozens of different styles and wattages, but they are all larger than the low voltage 50watt type. The smallest is about a 65mm cut out and has only a 5 or 10 watt cf lamp, up to 200mm with 2 x 18 or 24watt lamps. Other sizes and wattages as well. these fitting tend to be for commercial applications, and will be more expensive than you think!

Having to flush lights to the ceiling doesn't sound energy saving to me but you might get some BOGOFF offers if you look around.

Yes. Go to a Home Depot or Lowes type of store. They have a nice variety of sizes and shapes.

My local Maplins has LED versions for my bathroom, and I believe they're the same for a kitchen. They run a lot cooler too - less of a fire risk.
