I think the CBEST is a 6th grade equivalency test.

I believe the CBEST is based on 8th grade skills. If you are not a native english speaker, the reading/writing portion could be challenging.

However, like others have said, if you cannot pass this test, you should not be a teacher or you should at least go back to school to refresh/learn the basics.

The Reading and Math parts of the CBEST are very easy. My lowest score was on the Writing.

The difficulty of it will depend on your preparation for taking the test and your test-taking abilities. That is, if you know the material but need to bone up. I passed all three portions in one fell swoop. Sections can be retaken until they are passed but I definitely believe if someone cannot pass that test in one try they should not become a teacher. I did the best in the math, then reading and then the writing essay portion.

Go to your local library and check out one of the several "How to prepare for the CBEST" books they have there.
I did. My local library is the Glendale Central.
It doesn't look to be too hard. You should easily pass it.
