Are asian girls partial towards rap, hip hop, and R&B music? I'm especially curious because I have the impression that Asian girls are a lot more into hip hop music. I always thought Asian girls would be the last kind of people to like this kind of music because of swearing, materialism, and violence portrayed in the songs. However, I finding out that a lot of my Asian friends listen to rap, hip-hop, etc...
Are there any girls or boys out there that want to share the reasons? What are the popular songs/artists?

C'mon dude, these days EVERYONE is listening to Hip Hop, Rap, and R&B. If you've got an Asian radio station where you live, tune in, you'll even hear Asian R&B and rap songs and stuff.
I'm a black chick, living in Asia at the moment (so you can get a feel for where I'm coming from with this answer). When I go to the nightclubs here, it'll be the hip hop rooms that are fullest! And clubs that don't have multiple rooms will often alternate between hip hop and techno (not on the same night, of course).
And let me close with THIS: http://youtube.com/watch?v=dzUHPHJwZaE
That song's pretty dated now, but I use it to illustrate a point - one of the biggest Mandopop stars raps!
So yeah, Asian chicks are all over that kind of music, English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese - doesn't matter. Ooh, speaking of Japanese, did you catch the theme song for the Fast and the Furious sequel? Teriyaki Boys: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZCtqKWtE3YU). I know a lot of hip hop fans wouldn't call that hip hop, but hey, I'm from the Bronx and I say it counts. Anyhoo, hope all of that helps you wrap your head around what's blasting through radios in those genres here. I'm sure it's even more popular amongst Asian raised in say America or the UK, etc.
