The child resides at the mothers house and the father gets the child every other weekend and 4 weeks out of the summer.

I believe shared custody allows the child to stay at both parents homes for an extended period of time. While full custody only allows the other parent visitation rights - no "spend the night"s at the other parents home.

i don't live in florida but here in pennsylvania the difference is that shared parental custody is when you share each week. you split each week 50/50 so you see the kid equally and full custody is when the kid lives with you all the time and doesn't see the other parent only if they choose to let them
