Pre-ranking is based on performace of last year and what their stock is heading into the upcoming season. Normally, by season end, the ranking could change, but pre-ranking is our only prediction to how the players perform during the season and our reliable source for draft day. Sometimes, a high pick could be a bust while the undrafted could become the biggest name in Fantasy Sports. That's why we have other sources, such as sleepers and bust to tell the difference between a good season and a bad season.

Generally speaking pre-ranking are just that rankings before the season starts. They should be used as a guideline when it comes to draft day. There is usually some research involved in the rankings, but if you look at different sources for rankings they will often differ, so it is important to look at different ones, and look at how they decided those rankings. I would hope that the majority of the time pre-rankings do turn out similar to end rankings (i.e. Manning), but there will always be suprises. Also any good pre-ranking system will change as more news comes up. The differences in pre-rankings and actual play is what makes fantasy sports fun and interesting to play, it is also entertaining when you spot an up and coming star before anyone else does.

Pre-rankings are a good guideline for you to use, but if you want to win your league do your research. Pre-rankings are based mainly on the previous years overall stats. They do not take into account injury time or maybe a player did not get the starting nod until midseason.

Take some time and study the players and read up on who was hurt and look at projected starters.
