Pre-marital sex is very common in the US. It is not seen as a bad thing unless you go to extremes with it (these would be the men labelled "users" and the women labelled "whores"). I never wanted to be a virgin when I got married because I wanted to experience sex with other men to be able to know what I liked and did not like. I was always very careful with who I chose, and that we had a solid relationship before I slept with them, but I did not want to be inexperienced before marriage. As far as a suitable age for marriage, that is up to the individual people involved. Legally, you have to be 18 to get married here (or have consent of your parents), but if you look at life more realistically, the mid-20s are probably a better starting point so that you get some of the "partying genes" out of your system and grow up before you make the commitment to marriage. In my opinion, in the US, people want to marry for love, not to be financially secure or to produce offspring, and therefore want to be able to test out different situations and be sure about their choices before getting into marriage. I don't think Americans have the ability, with all of our freedoms here, to marry and accept a marriage where there may not be love, where in other countries, the concept of love in marriage is not necessary and obligation is more important. Isn't it interesting how different the world treats thing in different places and yet, at the core of our beings, aren't we all the same?

1) Unfortunately, a lot of Americans are complete and total whores. Some 1/3 of children are born to unmarried parents (70% among blacks).
2) Yes, I believe in waiting for marriage.
3) For good people, marriage is better at a young age, that is, as soon as there is some maturity. I think 18-22 is a good range.

It is more common than not! A suitable age for marriage varies on the individual. It is when they feel ready and is not for someone else to decide for them unless they are under the age of 18. I did not wait until I was married to have sex. Our culture is just so acceptable of this but I wish that it were different.

Very common. It's almost scary. I know a few (meaning about 3) people who waited until they were married. I really wish I would have, though. Most people don't get married until their late 20s here. However, I was 22. My brother-in-law was only 20 and his wife 17 (yes, I said 17) when they got married, and they are doing fine. I know one couple that went out of state and got married at 14! They have been married about 30 years. However, I don't advise this.

pre-marital sex is common not only in US but around the world except for muslim country.just a few.you can count in your finger for those people who have self-control.Here is Europe, there was a survey that teenager lost their virginity at the age of 13.many of these youth are have unexpected pregnancy and end up unwed mother. Here in Ireland abortion is prohibited.
that's really a big issue in our society.Who is to be blamed?Government, environment or the parents?
young people indulge themselves to pornography and want to experience.others they see in the movies and advertisement.they imitate and try what they see.sometimes because of broken family issues.children are rebellious and want to do things to pacify them even they know that it is wrong.
i think it depends what age is suitable for marriage as long as both party is mature enough and ready to face responsibility the role of husband and wife.marriage is not a food that if you don't like the taste you will throw out.marriage is sacred and it is a vocation .marriage without regrets...are you ready to get married?my best regards and wishes for you!God bless!

Premarital sex was made in US. Very few americans view premarital sex as a bad thing ("You have to test the waters before going for a swim right?"). The best age for marriage is between 24 and 27. Keeping sex for marriage is a good thing. Atleast you won't be meeting your wife with STIs.

Americans cannot legally get married until age 18, many wait until after college, so that is 22. But most people probably get married between 24-30. And, unfortunately, premarital sex is common. I plan on waiting until marriage, but most people do not see it that way.

I think pre-marital sex is definately not as frowned upon in the US as it used to be. It's more accepted now. I started when I was 14 and my husband about the same. I wouldn't change anything If I could go back, I am happy with my decision. I mean, If I had saved myself, who is to say I would wind up with someone who did the same because of the millions of people who aren't saving themselves anymore. If I had saved myself I wouldv't wanted to be with someone who did the same and that is like finding a needle in a haystack in th US.

In the year 2006, Most Americans do test drives. After all, even if it looks great on the outside, is it going to be comfortable on the inside? There are still some who practice the old ways, but not many.

It's common world-wide. But yes it's about 95% in America, last time I checked.
It's not a big deal though, it's ok aslong as you are with the special some-one, you are completly sure you are ready, and you use protection.
