I getting pissed off by stupid responses about philippines problems and filipinos denial and ignorance...?

i asked why filipino get defensive and offended by bringing up the issue of poverty, young girl prostitution and nude webcam girls, parents without jobs having 5 kids without support for education.

BUT SOME IDIOTS think they're smart.. and comment like...

Philippines is not the only poor country with these problems.. OR
the spanish and US colonizers are at fault.... and still accuse me of being racist... can an asian be racist against other asians?

Philippines is not the only poor country.. but that doesn't mean the issue should not be brought up about philippines... if you're country is singled out .. SO WHAT ... DEAL WITH IT

ALSO, when the US was in phils. is was experiencing high economic growth and low inflation. AFTER INDEPENDENCE, and the since the Marcos regime onwards... YOUR COUNTRY WENT TO HELL.
SO everyone who doesn't have a clue.. SHUT UP

im not thinking that filipinos are bad people or inferior in any way. Im only concerned that their is too much denial or blindman's attitude to reality of life in Phils....

there's too much of sugar coating problems with rationalizing like we are poorest of nations but among the happiest... or its all in God's hands..

I spoke to a single mother with 4 kids and no income.. her youngest daughter is 2 years old and she is precious. but her mom cant find a good paying job in Hong Kong because the father split and the grandma is too weak. So what will happen to her kids, They have no chance without college degree.
She should have hope and means to support her kids... and society should be involved to provide the support network so she can find good paying job in hong kong or singapore or wherever she can go....

There's no support from phils. society. that should be there. that' s why I talk about the UGLY SIDE if Phils. If your offended .. I DONT GIVE A ****.

And yes, Asians can be racist to other Asians. You are proof of that. You are a racist against the Filipino race.

You are telling us to 'deal with it'? How about you, blowing up to us in this question just because some Filipinos got defensive and offended? Guss what: DEAL WITH IT.

And why are you calling some people 'idiots'? Just because they are expressing their opinions? HEADS-UP: there's a thing called freedom of speech. They are not being 'idiots who think they are smart'. Just because you don't like what they are saying doesn't GIVE YOU ANY RIGHT to call them idiots nor to tell them to shut up.

And most of all, 'your country went to hell' just makes you a way better person than all of us Filipinos. NOT.

'Don't answer me if you don't have anything useful to say' - I consider my answer quite useful as some sort of wakeup call for you attitude.

You getting pissed off appears to be a statement, not the question. Previous question: why Filipino get defensive and offended? Maybe you're just consorting with the wrong sort of people. And you view the wrong sort of websites which features nude webcam girls. These people won't resort to these kind of things - prostitution, for example - if there are no clients and no money to get out of it. Poverty - as in most cases - occurs only in maybe 50% percent of the pop. - the rest live in luxury.

Like you, I believe things started to go downhill when Ferdinand Marcos became president in the mid-60s. He and his minions slowly but surely corrupted the soul of a nation and almost drained it of its blood. When you break down one's spirit, there's no way to go but up. It's a long, uphill climb since we kicked out the dictator 20 years later. Love of country has to be restored. It is easy to fight tyranny when the tyrants are foreigners, but we never expected our own countryman to tyrannize us so.

The stuff you are talking about (poverty, prostitution, overpopulation, etc.) were all magnified during the Marcos years. We're still trying to recover from this national tragedy. If you go around the country (as I have in numerous occasions), you will see widespread poverty. Despite it all, there is no sense of despair. We're still a happy nation. We may not like the current administration and the politicking around us but we sure have not lost hope that things will get better someday.

And in the scheme of things, that is all that matters. We have HOPE. Give us a little more time to get our acts together and you'll see. Building a nation and restoring it to health is a collective effort, after all. As the saying goes, Rome was never built in one day.
