Just this one little planet, around one little sun out of billions, in one small galaxy out of billions of galaxies?

No, I'm suggesting there must be more than just us.

All the world's a stage...

We of earth are a planted seed for entertainment purposes... an experiment of sorts... by whatever sentient beings govern what we consider "the universe." Just as we ultimately live our lives to entertain ourselves, so does the need for comedy move up the chain of cognizance. Just as the ant in the ant farm has no knowledge of us enclosing and obeserving them, so are we enclosed and observed. Sure that's a harsh reality, but what could we possibly do otherwise?... except continue to entertain.
