I have read the answers to your question and it is so sickening to see supposedly grown educated people spew so much venom against such a simple question, I suppose they think they are the only ones who deserve to ask questions, I wanted to know why you ask this question so I did some research on the subjects, and found your question has validity, and things I had not thought of before, I am sure I will get the same venom us responses you have received , but I must agree with you, I don't under stand why these people are so blind, or are they all Jewish

Most answers are good and show maturity of mind in most people. Since I am not American, I will provide an independent view.
1.Israel’s history records point that where they are now is their country from which they were displaced. When de-colonization occurred the UK -- thru UN gave them back their land.
2. America (and the west) is indebted to Israel scientists that helped a lot during world war.
3.Thirdly, some reasonable number of Europeans are related or decedents of Israel -- they are your relatives.
4.Fourthly World war III or some war of some kind may start or happen in the Middle East or elsewhere; America (and the west) must have allies in the Middle East.
5.The most powerful nation in the world must have a grip of the Middle East and control that region --- it is very strategic because
a.Its rich in oil and those riches can be abused with massive destructiveness e.g. used to get nuclear technology and blowing up neighbours (like Iran Iraq wars and others if they had such weapons)
b.Its rich in religion and religious history and the associated pride can be abused to cause war simply by claiming that “My God is greater than yours” yet probably just referring to the same God, they are misunderstanding.(These people are driven by strong beliefs and can die for simple religious obligations so they need to be controlled by rational people or powers.)
Conclusively, Israel must be there as a good ground for deterring them and America must make sure Israel survives and exists always to maintain the balance at all cost (because America is a superpower and a policemen of the world ---really, this is true and good (long time it was Britain). I come from a country led by a dictator for almost 30 years and wish America (Bush) could invade, and remove the guy). I know its bad but it helps to free people, allow children to go to school and live a normal life (every person must work for himself, not eat only thru politics and or the barrel of the gun).

This could be a fair question but I can see right away that you are an anti-Semite, by the way you pose your question. You could also lump allot of other countries in this. You could ask the same question about the UN. What has the UN done for us is a really big question that Americans should ask. The UN is the same as nipples on a bull, of no use at all. Israel, what have they done? For one they had the guts to blow up Iraq's nuclear facility when we didn't. They are the only free country that is truly our friend in the area. They do provide stability in an area that hates our guts just because we are non-Muslim. Oil prices would be different if they were not in the area. So why am I saying all this two a mental midget Nazi like you? The answer is someone else might get something out of it and it is fun to call it like it is.

Israel was not given their land because of the US. It was a British Protectorate in the early 20th century and belonged to the UK. In 1948, it was granted as a homeland for the Jews by a majority vote of the United Nations. It belonged to the UK and they had every right to give it to whoever they chose, but they offered it up for a vote in the United Nations.

Israel is in fact used as a staging area for US military operations in the middle east, however Saudi Arabia is larger and is better known. Israel is our strategic foothold in the Middle East when we can't expect the Saudi's to cooperate with us.

Israel produces many products that we use here in the USA...

Teva pharmaceuticals produces the generic drugs that we depend upon. Look at any prescription bottle and you'll see "TEVA" on the bottom right of the label more often than not.

Israel exports honey, oranges and religious products for Christians, Muslims and Jews worldwide.

Israel didn't trick us into invading Iraq. The CIA did that all by itself because of bad intelligence we acquired from US collaborators in Iraq that we thought were trustworthy. This is public record.

Israel is very protective of military and industrial secrets. They do not give them to ANY other country. There isn't any motive for Israel to do this.

A couple of good videos of Israel's Army and Special Forces in Action...

I kind of agree with this question to some extent. I don't think Israel would ever stand by the United States like Great Britian does. If push came to show, I do think Israel would go to their own agenda.

However there were some good points abobe. Israel does give the United States an outlet in the Middle East. Without Israel, it make life more difficult.

It's the only "reliable" regime in the mideast. Other US allies in the region are authoritarian, or monarchies, or some combination of the two. In Saudi Arabia, the royal family could conceivably be overthrown by extremist religious factions, as happened to the Shah of Iran in 1979. That won't happen in Israel.

They had nothing to do with our invading Iraq; that was Bush's responsibility. Please cite any information you have about their "selling our secrets."

Granted, we do provide them with a large amount of financial aid. However, we provide almost the same amount ($500 million/year) to other countries, most specifically Colombia. What have they ever done for us?

they are a middle eastern democracy. given the priority this administration has given to the development of middle eastern democracy, that should count for something.

they are strategic in the sense of giving us a friend (not just an ally that could have an Islamist Revolution at any moment) in the region. They also show an example of a religious state that is still a secular democracy, an example the mid-east will need if it is to establish democracy anywhere.

Israel had nothing to do with our decision to go into Iraq. That stupidity was American born and bred.

Also, the military equipment that they have invented has been of great use to the American military. My husband does field medic work and just goes bonkers for Israeli medical supplies. He also says that there are guns and tanks and stuff that they have made that have really helped us.

I've also never heard anything about Israel giving our secrets away.

It sounds to me like you are believing everything that any bitter, ignorant anti-Semite tells you. This is not a good way to learn things. It turns you into a bitter, ignorant anti-Semite.

Yes, our Zionist plan is moving forward nicely thanks to Mr. Bush. He has been a great Zionist operative. Americans don't understand Zionism. You're government is operating on behalf of Israel and the Zionist cause. Until you realize that, nothing will make much sense to you. The goal was to trick Americans and the West into blindly hating Muslims across the board. What better way to do that than pull and inside job and blame it on Muslims and even though there is zero evidence to support blaming them, you silly Americans swallowed it. We played you like a fiddle. And we still are. Bush has been a great help to my people and our cause.

Nary a one of your claims is true.

Israel is the only ally America has in the Middle east.
