do discs made in chile work in the us? help please!?

my mom is really mad and telling me to just buy new memory cards which are really expensive too by the way...because she doesn't believe me that if i put my photos on to a disc here, that the disc will be able to read in the us...and lots of the discs here in chile are from the us...like...even the covers are written in english...i don't want to waist my money on a new memory card help please?

of course they work. i fly to the states several times a year and all my recorded cds work there, even in rented cars players. only dvds have that geographical problem!
