I'm divorcing. And it's killing me. What does it mean if the hubby says he loves me but is not in love with me--and cries and cries on the phone about how much he misses me. And yet, he doesn't want to stay married?

btw...he moved to a different continent. So, I cannot see him. And not sure what good that would do, because he keeps saying he wants to move on. Why does he cry so much then?

we've both made mistakes. He's wanted to leave and I had too. But I can't get rid of the memories. It's been 17 years.

He wants you but doesn't want to commit to you. I love you but I am not in love with you, is bullshit. Next time he starts to cry on the phone tell him to stop acting like a little *****. Then stop taking his calls.

He cares about you but just isn't into you anymore. People change over years. Our interest change, we mature, and realize we want something else. He probably does really love you. He is crying because he realizes he is hurting you. He is also probably very scared because now he has to figure out what he wants and what makes him happy. Don't hang on the phone with him it isn't going to help either one of you. Yes you both will miss each other. But you need to heal on your own and so does he. Someone once told me that love isn't an emotion it is a decision. So he has decided not to love you. And you need to decide not to love him. I also believe everyone plays a role in our lives at different times. You will be fine and so will he. You don't want to be with someone who doesn't want to be with you. You definitely deserve better then that. Lots of luck. Let him go. And you will eventually be happy. He maybe making the biggest mistake in his life but it is his choice.

May be he has something else in his mind more powerful than the love he feels for you,try to find out what he's up too.It sounds like he may be confused, maybe take some time off! with out talking to each other for a couple of weeks, then you will really know if he really loves you and wants to commit to the marriage, may be he wants his liberty too, avoid the responsibility. You guys can go to therapy too,but they can't change him!! Good Luck!

He's scared. You can love someone like family because you've been married so long but not still be in love. Still, he feels he is losing part of his family. It is a hard thing to go through. Good luck

he does love you but a happy marriage requires more then love. Its hard to separate from someone so its normall that he cries shows that he is being true to his feelings especially if he is not being rude or mean. You need to move on.

i was in a similar situation once. i loved my fiance, but was not "in love" with him. i loved him like a best friend, but nothing more. i'm sure he does miss you very much. breaking up after a long period of time is hard on everyone involved, even if the relationship was doomed.

the guy's confused is what that means

he loves you means just that, just like any friend or sister or mom

but not 'in love' with you means the initial flirtatious beginning of the relationship has ended, he's not head-over-heels anymore

he's just lost, and doesnt know what to do about that

Maybe ya'll should just divorce and live together. Maybe the titles are killing the romance.

He's either really that confused, or he feels guilty. He's scared of starting a completely new life.
