Be patient with yourself, remember it took you nine months to gain the weight. Breast-feeding will help lose some weight but to tone up you need to work @ it. I would wait until your 8 weeks post surgery to prevent getting a hernia. The last thing you want after a c-section is to work out too soon and slow the healing process, or create a hernia when the muscle pokes through the fascia. It is recommended that you engage in low-impact exercises such as walking, swimming or yoga. Come up with a personal exercise program - something you can stick to -and enroll the company of a friend or new mother.
Start slow: 10-minute exercises should be tried first and then increased when you feel more confident. Keep a 30-minute limit on your exercise time and cease immediately if you start to feel dizzy or short of breath.

Good luck!!! I had my babies 16 and 12 years ago, and I STILL have that "baby tummy." I'm assuming the best way would be lots of abdominal exercises, but you have to realize, you may have to have some form of plastic surgery to completely remove that little protective layer of fat. It's there to help protect your baby while in the womb. I also wouldn't do anything surgical if you're planning on having another, since I would think that would completely defeat the purpose.
Also, if you're breastfeeding, you shouldn't try to diet either, because you need to take in more calories to produce milk for the baby. Just remember to be healthy, and you have a baby now, so you're not going to have a 16 year old's body anymore. As you get older, you'll realize you probably don't want it either. Congrats on the new little one!!!!

I'd say be egntel on your abdominal muscels since you don't want no scar tissue or complications cause really 5 weeks aint really a long time for a major inscion like a c section. juts work out lightly, walk on the treadmill. I heard breast feeding will help you shed some baby pounds as well...& then slowly increase the level of your excersise routine.... Also you might consider excersising with your baby, they have baby yoga classes or swimming for babies that way both of you are getting out & you can get some bonding time lol! Congrats to your baby!
