What segments of the Microsoft company make the most money?

Microsoft's cash cow is by far their Windows operating systems (personal, business, and server editions). This has been and continues to be the case for Microsoft. A close second would be their office products, such as Office, and the individual Office applications. They make good money on their hardware products, such as X-Box, but no where near the amount they make on software. If you want specifics, go to Yahoo finance and pull up their financial statements - it should have this information within the comments section. Hope this helps.

Definitely not the Zune - it's going to be obsolete by the end of next year, guaranteed. Even though it's highly competitive with Apple's IPod - it just can't be Microsoft's highest grossing product.

I think for the Christmas season Xbox has made a climb, but it still isn't the most profitable asset that Microsoft has released.

The guy above me may be correct. Microsoft has devised a software run by 90% of ALL computers - Windows.

-hope it helps.
