My son is half-Mexican and half-white and he had to grow up in a small East Texas (mostly white) town. Our town was known for being one of the stopping places for illegals on their way north. So, he took a lot of s***. On top of that he was a stick boy, that is to say, he was skinny as a rail. The chances of him beating up his taunters were slim. So, being quite a wit myself, I taught him how to deal with that kind of razzing.
By picking on you, they are at least paying attention to you. Let's work on that. And remember always, if you are laughing WITH them, they cannot laugh AT you. Become a Mexican. Become all the things they think you are. Play along. At home, think of some clever comebacks, such as, "I crossed it the other day and saw your real daddy", or "I didn't cross, I swam and guess what? My d*** got stuck on the bottom!" If You develop quite a few of these kinds of things, you will become one of the boys. My son wound up one of the most popular kids in a school of 3,000.
Second, exaggerate your accent. Believe it or not, the Spanish accent is considered very beautiful in this country. And if the going gets a little too rough and you cannot think of a witty answer, begin swearing at them in Spanish. You can later tell them you called them a son of a hog, a man who likes to be with sheep, a man who will never get a woman, the son of a criminal, etc. Lay it on thick.
Do whatever you have to do to as long as you can keep your self-respect. You will find that they grow to like and respect you. Laughter is always best. I've been nerdy all my life and I can laugh at myself when others "point out" my shortcomings. Also, I've been doing it for so long, that I have about 1,000 comebacks stockpiled away. Just because we're white doesn't mean we're rich or a****. Good Luck to you...

Im sorry about that, but P S has a point too. You shouldnt have to move, but understand that if it was a white kid at a school that was all Dominican they would be teased too. Or at least looked at weird. It isnt right, you should do something... Liek a presentation about where you came from so the ignorant people learn about it, instead of jumping to conclusions. People will stereotype, but we all need to get over that part of it.

But if they're not teasing your because your Dominican, it's because your poor or because you dress funny or because you farted in gym class, there is always going to be something kids will find about anyone to tease them about! That's just part of being in school, unfortunately. So actually, you can look at this as kind of a compliment. They are accepting you into the herd by this weird twisted initiation of sorts! So throw it right back in their faces! Put them in their place! Tell them you crossed when they built a Taco Bell right on the border.....and then give them a F.Y.I.- "By the way, I'm not mexican. I'm Dominican. There's a difference, but thanks for showing me your lack of intelligence by your feeble attempt at saying something humorous..." Then shake your head and walk away.....It's smart, funny and to the point. Just shake it off, it's just another day in high school.....

I feel for you and hateful people will have to answer for their bigotry. But don't class all of the white community with the racist people you've encountered.
I'm sure there are a lot of white people in Lexington that are not racist. When you class everyone with the people who are treating you bad, you're doing the same injustice to the people who have not treated you bad. This is reverse racism and I'm sure that's not what you want to be.

Man that's so messed up I hear that going around a lot too. Teens are just mean, face it it's true. It's almost like black jokes talking about did you drink Kool-aid for lunch? *cringe* I hate that. But correct them by saying you are dominican. And it always happens like that. What makes me angry too is that the people making the jokes at my school are majority white, so I kinda know what your feeling. If you want to be nice, ignore them. OR get some jokes up your sleeves, I know some jokes that can cut them up LOL

The suburbs or the hood, it dont matter where you live. You should always feel proud of who you are and heritage you represent. You can always turn it around on them and become the most popular guy in school. Play sports (baseball!) you'll see how every one of your team mates will make you feel like family and be proud of having you in the team.
**on the other hand, if they ever get to you and you want to be mean. If they insist on ask you when you crossed the border, you can say "I'm not sure, but you can ask your mom. She dropped me off!".

Hey not all whites are asses either! I'm white and I could care less if you're brown, white yellow or purple. You're different, so they're afraid of it due to ignorance. Just ignore them. The more upset you get the more they'll tease you. Dont' pay them any mind.

Hola! I'm Dominican too. They're white and rich and stuck up and snobby. Next time they act trashy like that, treat them like the trash they are and don't answer back. You wouldn't speak to a sewer rat, would you? So don't. Just remember, white people aren't bad people. Bigots are bad people.

Why do you care what people say to you or about you? Why would you say that hispanics are the best race? (from your last question). I was the only white girl in an all black school. I didn't care what anyone said about me.
