OK here's the thing...He was saying that he only accepts CREDIT CARDS. But just analyzing his feedbacks out of 14 there was just one negative feedback on him being the buyer but never sending a payment for the item....any suggestions...can I cancel my buying from this guy or no??

I'm not sure you can do this unless the seller actually has a store, and categorically states that you can pay with a debit card through their own checkout process. I haven't seen too many of these merchants...
Though I'm not exactly a big fan of Paypal (sky-high fees!), I think you would probably be better off completing the transaction through them that giving your card number away to a seller you don't know... they do have pretty good buyer protection policies.

You can only really do that if the seller is willing and able to accept debit card payments. If it's a private seller then it's very unlikely, if it's a business seller it's a possibility. To be able to accept debit or credit card payments the person accepting the payment must have the facilities for processing such payments.
If you have a debit card you can use Paypal - it's free for buyers to use and also gives you buyer protection against not receiving the purchased goods etc.
You didn't say why you don't want to use Paypal, this is the method I'd recommend. There are other ways such as using an escrow service or transferring funds via Western Union but unless the item you're buying is valuable then escrow will be quite costly and Western Union doesn't provide you with an safeguards and is open to abuse.
In any event, I wouldn't recommend giving debit or credit card details out unless it's to a trusted organisation.
Alternative payment methods include sending a cheque, money order or bank transfer. Cash can be sent through the post but use a secure delivery service such as registered, recorded or special delivery (or whatever the service is called).

Not everyone accepts debit/credit cards. Would you send me open access to your bank account? PayPal is actually more secure and most people accept it on Ebay. Look on the web for step by step directions.

No. If you go directly to Ebay you have no protection. Better gothrough Paypal. It is safe and reliable. Paypal gives protecrtion to buyer and it is first priority. I can give you a link that deals with Payapl & Ebay transactions through Paypal. PayPal is one of the most popular online money transfer systems widely used for online auctions, pay to surf programs, e-books and purchase of low value goods. It is now a part of the online auction website eBay. More details available at

give the person the number hope they don't go on a shopping spree ( they recommend Pay Pal for a reason ) ( even a money order is not safe - I'm out $ 18.00 for the one time I didn't use Pay Pal imagine what would have happened if I had used a Credit or Debit card )

If the seller says he accepts credit cards then he will accept debit cards (my debit card has the Visa symbol)

As was previously stated, you would be able to use your debit card either through a PayPal account, or through the seller's merchant account if he/she has one.
PayPal would allow you to use your debit card as long as the seller allows PayPal credit card payments.
You would be able to use your debit card if the seller has setup one or more merchant accounts (Visa, Mastercard...).
If in doubt, always contact the seller prior to bidding.

You can't, unless the seller offers a personal checkout option and if they do, they would have emailed it to you with instructions on how to use it. Other then that you would have to use paypal. Paypal is the best way to go anyways because they offer buyer protection.

Unless the seller is set up for that(to take credit cards) you will either have to use Bidpay or send a money order or check.

you have to contact the seller and tell them you want to pay with a debit card, and see if they will take it.
