Do you think this was wrong of him?

She accussed him of having an affair because we went to the bar to watch football last night and did'nt get home until 11:45. He was with me and did nothing wrong, and has never hit her before. He feels terrible about it but I don't blame him for slapping her.

First of all...man, woman or child, will get slapped in the face if they intentionally threw (hot) coffee into my face. But it seems as if he may have been going through this for some time now, and nowadays its more likely that a man is being abused than a woman. I think he should apologize for what he did, but take a break or maybe move on with his life. She seems to have serious trust issues, and if there is no trust there really is no love!

That would depend on why she threw the coffee in his face. Violence is never the answer in either case and the events leading up to the incident should be looked at carefully to figure out exactly where each party could have changed the outcome......There must have been a reason in place already for her to accuse him of infidelity...Where is the proof...if he was with you all night, she'll need more than just hearsay and why was he out in the first place, perhaps he should not have put himself in the position of being doubted if the relationship is already having trust issues...he should feel bad...make amends and not let it happen again...if she is a drama queen and he is already doing things like partying with the boys and possibly cheating...he should have left the relationship already.

I'm sure she didn't throw the coffee in his face b/c she felt like it...he must have really been a bad boy! Either way, her emotions/anger got the best of her from what he did to her initially, so she retaliated with the coffee as he did with the slap in the face...BOTH (RE)ACTIONS ARE WRONG! ...it seems she may have been slapped in the face twice, once from whatever he did wrong in the 1st place and second, with the physical slap in the face.....which one can you go to jail for?

I dont care what other people think but I think he was justified. His wife should not have thrown the coffee in his face. That too is assault. As long as he did not use excessive force when he slapped her I think he was justified. Women today think they can do anything they want to a man and he cant do anything. Men should be treated with respect, just as women should. If we both respected each other there would be less problems.

Yes and no. I think it was wrong of her to throw hot coffee in his face.. that could be really dangerous if the coffee is hot enough. If someone did that to me I think I would have slapped them too... doesn't make it right. But the coffee trumps the slap, definitely. She had it coming.

The question is why did she throw the coffee in his face. She knew it would hurt him, and his instinctive reaction was to hit out. His choice was wrong, and he can be punished for it.

Bottom line if it went to court, she would be up for ABH and so would he, or spousal abuse. I reckon she would actually come of worse as she (according to your text) started it.

On another note, why are you asking if it was wrong of him, he is your friend why are you not asking if she should be punished. Friends stick together and you are not doing much sticking, unless he has done this before and you do not like it .

LMAO!!! Man I wish I could have seen that. That is straight outta the comic books.
And to answer your question after some serious laughing....HELL NO! Even by law he would be justified in the issuing of a slap to the face, but nothing excessive though.

I think the slap was an automatic reaction to scalding liquid being thrown in his face...there is definately some issues there. Perhaps they should find some help before it gets any more out of control.

Neither one was right for what they did. His reaction was exactly what is was--a reaction to her throwing the coffee in his face, I would've done the same thing. Going and watching football is just fine--she had no right to do that to that to him--if she feels he's cheating--she should have handled it differently than she did.
The whole situation was way out of line.

Yes, He should have filed Domestic abuse charges against Her but it is too late now since He took matters in to his own hands. They both need Anger management classes and restraint orders for each other until problems are resolved.
