Since 2 years back the least, I've been actively carrying out my hobby. That is to collect paper bags. Till date, I have a few boxes of my collection. Some were obtained when I purchase things off a store, some are given and others were bought (mostly through Yahoo Auction). Is my hobby weird? Some of the people I asked this question to claimed that I am weird to have such a hobby. To them, paper bags are just paper bags. But, I collect mostly designers' and high end label' paper bags. Share your opinion people! Thank you so much! :D

It's an UNUSUAL hobby, but no reason to think it strange. If you were just piling up all the paper bags you could get your hands on, then I might consider it compulsive behavior and THAT, I would find strange.

But it appears you are actually putting together a collection of unique bags, which is no more strange than collectiong matchbooks, stamps, coins or Barbie dolls. I noticed that you got some of your bags from Yahoo Auction. That tells me that you are not alone in your interest.

Isn't that a good sign that you are not all that strange?

No weirder than many other hobbies. Just think of how many people collect useless stuff. Paper bags sounds way cooler than collecting those little spoons from different states.

Well, the down side in storing paper bags is that they may be a risk for fire. Do you obsess on them? Do they interrupt other activities you might be doing? And are you okay seeing boxes around your place that keep mounting? You might want to consider these questions before you continue to save any more.

It is your hobby, do whatever makes you happy! Who knows maybe in a few years some of the bags could be worth something! Enjoy!

Thats not weird! That's a cool hobby! Those people who say its weird are gonna be crying in 20 years when you sell your collection for $100,000. Just make sure they dont get crushed or wrinkled.

I can understand how you can collect designer/high-end bags. They are designed rather interestingly and are often made of quality material. It's not too strange...I've kept shopping bags because I thought them pretty.

Nah, its not weird. As long as you like what you do its all good. Who says you have to have regular hobbies like stamp collecting and rock collecting. Just be yourself, do what you want. Who cares what other people think? :)
