It will be very very busy. And lots of noise, lots of people, lots of young trouble seeking drunks.
If you want a calm relaxed friendly place dont go to Trafalgar Square.

I spent new years eve in central london a few years back and it was great. Running about from Trafalgar to Piccadilly, etc. Met loads of cool people, alcohol being sold regardless of time (mind you it was still 11-11 back then). Amazing time!

With the rain and storm forecast it might be a place to miss this year. However, if you do go up, perhaps closer to the Embankment would be advisable to watch the fireworks display. The Square will be crowded and has little or nothing to actually see..............

Stood there like a sardine.
Nowhere to do a pee.

Clocks struck midnight.
Everybody cheered
and went home.
