I have 5 Betta's. Rebecca, angel, jewel, emerald, and rainbow. First of all....DO NOT USE ANY SOAP. No matter how good you rinse it out it will hurt them. What i do is i catch my lil fishy and i put it in a seperate cup of water. Than i pour out the water that's in the tank. Make sure the rocks don't go down the drain...not drain friendly. Then i will grab a dry plain paper towel to get all the gunk out of the tank. Then i rinse it 5 times with hot water. Then i use filtered water, fill the tank back up, make sure it's as close to room temp as you can get it. Then grab the fishy, put it back in. Your good to go! Don't use any chemicals!!!!!

Female bettas? Are they in the same tank or individual bowls?
I cant be of much help without the right info. In bowls just dump the water, clean the rocks with your hands and water and scrub the inside with a wash cloth. NO SOAP.
For a tank you'll need a syphoning tube thingy (preferably one that hooks up to your sink). Empty a few inches out of the tank by sucking the gravel each week.
good luck

1.) Get a glass full of water and put a few drops of water condishoner in it.
2.) Use a net to get the betta out of the tank and into the glass, but if the net is to big to get into the tank because it's a fish bowl then hold your net over a sink. slowly pore water from the betta bowl into the net until the betta falls into the net. then put the betta bowl on the counter and quickly drop the betta into the glass of condishoned water.
3.) pore the rest of the water into the sink.
4.) wash the gravel inside the bowl an d pore that water out.
5.) finaly pore fresh water into the betta tank or bowl and condishin it. wait five minets and then put the betta back in the tank or bowl.

For full water changes I rinse with water and spritz with some vinegar and scrub. The vinegar kills nasty things but any potential residue it might leave behind is not harmful to your fish. However, you still need to be sure to rinse the vinegar out as completely as possible.
Boiling your tank decorations every so often is a good idea.
As for the gravel, rinse it thoroughly to get all the poop and gunk out. A fine pasta strainer does the trick nicely if you don't have a gravel vacuum.
Clean your tanks about once per week.

You aren't keeping all 4 together are you? That's not going to work long term unless they were raised together from birth, or are all females. (Even then they may still stage a cage match.) Cleaning out a tank is going to depend on if it's filtered, or not. In the case of an unfiltered tank you may just want to remove the fish, rinse it out with warm tap water, and replace all the water. (Be sure the new and old is the same temp.) In the case of a filtered tank you want to vacuum the gravel and remove 10-30% of the water.

I used to take a cup and get some of the water from the top of the tank (its cleaner) Put the Betta's in it.
clean the whole tank....rinse the rocks good and wipe the sides of the bowl (algae)
Rinse it all out and fill with water (take the chlorine out....you can buy this chemical at walmart or any fish store) and dump him back in with the water in the cup.

i have a Betta and i use soap to clean his tank. i only put a little in and i make sure it is completely rinsed out before putting him back in. well u can use ur net to take him out, but when i tried that, i could not get him out, so i pour his whole tank into the sink, including the fish, and i have my net right there where all the water was coming out so that when he came out with the water, i could get him and put him in the separate cup full of water. then in clean his tank and dechlorinate it and then i pour him out of the little cup into the tank. hope i was some help!

Bleach is a safe product to clean anything sensitive as it is the only cleaning product that rinses cleanly away. If you use bleach make sure you rinse real well. Let the water run over in it for a few minutes before refilling.

first, take the bettas out and put them in a bowl that isn't too small or squishy (with water that has been left overnight). then, pour out all the water in the tank. rinse it, scrub with sponge (no soap) fill it up with nice, clean water and leave it over night. after that, the fish my return back to the tank.

They say take out 25% of the water and replace it with clean water but I find it smells if I don't clean it all. I scoop up the fish in a plastic cup and rinse the bowl and rocks until the water runs clear then wipe them down. They're betta'a it takes a lot to kill them, I've done this many times and they always survive.
