I'm worried that a hanging will glorify his death and lead to him becoming a martyr. The point of a public hanging is to dissuade people from doing what he did, and showing the consequences. But I don't think that will have an effect in this case since Muslims/Arabs seem to not care if they die for their cause.

I think lethal injection would have been the way to go in this case since it does not appear as "glorious" as a hanging.

Of course, the best way would have been to kill him in secret a while ago and then claim he died of a heart attack while imprisoned.

Your opinions?

A public hanging seems like such a tortuous death penalty.
Yes, lethal injection is possibly the most humane way to perform the death penalty. However, it is not happening on our soil. And as we may think it is up to us, it's not. We can't boss everyone around.

There seems to be no chance of his being viewed as a religious martyr. The religious people do not like the oppressive Arab regimes, one of which Sadam used to lead. He may be some kind of phony "martyr" symbol for the nationalist Arabs, who are secular. I think the public hanging will bring a sense of justice to the oppressed Iraqis.

Over Sadaam's 'occupation', very nearly 2 million human beings have died in extra inhumane techniques than each person human beings might want to imagine. putting is the basic way out for Hussein- he says he will be considered as a 'martyr to the Muslim global' and it seriously is not painful for extraordinarily lengthy, as i'm particular many human beings have suffered for days and probably even weeks. in truth, Sadaam advantages to die once for each lack of life for which he's responsible.

Actually Saddam itself asked not to be hanged...I think killing him,is a bad idea and I really don't think it's that important how he's going to die,he will still be seen as a martyr who was judged and killed by the American occupant...and violence there is going to grow there...
Killing him in prison?I don't think so...It's really low that they faked a trial to kill him...

I don't care. Its not about what symbol he makes; its not about whether he's a martyr or not. He commited atrocious crimes and he must pay for them with his life. What other people think about it is irrelevant.

I think we should have just castrated him and stuck him in the hole we find him in, but this time we'll give him a TV that only shows "Mama's Family".
