My husband and I are at each others throats about naming our baby. He loves the name Hendrix..but I need some more information about what people think!! Thanks!!!

That name is hideous. All I think of is the singer Jimmy Hendrix. No, don't do that to your kid.

It's unique and different. I had a friend in college named Hendrick which is similar. If you aren't particularly keen on the name you can always use it as a middle name (just don't make Jimi the first name, its been done!). You can also name the baby Hendrix and call him Henry for short if you like that name.

I don't think you should worry about what any of us think as I have a like - don't like thing going on with the name. Name him as you wish and who knows you might think of an appropriate nick name for him. What I mean is I once knew a boy who's name was Harold John and they called him bootsy.
You could call him Endy as in Andy. You may even call him by his middle name.
Your little boy being named Hendrix, who knows could turn out to have the coolest name in school.
It shouldn't matter at all what you call him.
Please keep your nerver endings and all of that clear so that you can have a healthy baby and keep your health.

I think it is adorable. I haven't thought about it for a first name but I do like it. With all the H names becoming popular - Harper, Hayden, Henry, Hannah, and Hailey it wouldn't be too crazy of a name. Plus people are using last names as first names more and more...Donovan, Spencer, Fletcher, Bennett, Marshall, Mitchell, and Presley.

I'd prefer Hendrex but if it's a tribute I think it's cool. It's a deviation of Henry. If you pair it with a neat middle name or First name...I think it'd be alright. Why not ask your Son to tell you his name or what he thinks...and trust your instincts on what comes in your dreams or pops in your head.
FYI if it's after the legend his full name was James Marshall Hendrix

Hendrix is dumb...being named after a famous guitar player is just stupid. People are going to call him "Henny" or "Drix" or something that's not at all the original intention. And then everyone who know's anything about Jimi Hendrix is going to always ask "so do you play guitar?"
Generally people don't like a lot of questions or discussions about their names since it makes something that's very personal a matter of unwanted attention. That's the way it is in this culture anyway.

I think that's a cool name! First, it's unique (despite the fact that it reminds you of Jimi Hendrix) and it sounds tough (good for a boy so he won't get tripped on in highschool). I'd say go fot it.
