I find that virtually all of the "answers" are made without any forethought. Also...many "answers" are projections of personal psychological issues. As a university instructor myself I am always trying to ascertain what a person's verbage is unintentionally conveying. This is actually an inportant issue to deal with since it is more conducive to have a public that can "think" creatively in a "free" society. However, whether or not Americans are actually free is another question. People can be told what to do by simply convincing them if they cannot "think" outside the box that is given them.
Now let's see how many answers can be outside the box I am referring to.

I think you already have your own answer to your question, so I'm not sure if you even really want to read my response. I think it's impossible for someone to write without thinking at all. There has to be some type of thought process going on and some internal dialogue. People may not think out there answers thoroughly before responding, or they may not be thinking along the same lines you are. But somewhere in those brains, neurons are hard at work!

Perhaps that is because many who post questions do not think before they post. In most cases, unless the qustion involves a certain fact, questions don't need to be asked if the issue was well pondered on. Thus, most questions are a result of lack of thought. Consequently, an answer, which is the reply to the question, will be of a similar degree of thoughtfulness or lack of it.

Woe Nelly! The majority of responses on this sight are very well intended and honest. It's much easier to tell someone the truth when they do not "know" who you are. It's human nature, we don't want to hurt the ones we love, but we don't have any issues with giving a confused stranger "if it were me..." recommendations. On another note, no one on this great earth is GIVEN their box. People box themselves in because of the way they've been taught to think. Not having the confidence to ask questions (learn,) not wanting more or not having hope is what boxes us in.

You've quickly forgotten that regardless of what the answer is, you always receive two points. If there was a system to penalize (status wise) patrons whose answers were absolutely terrible, perhaps you wouldn't see as many answers. Then again, Y! Answers wouldn't be very popular.

In sum - you are rewarded for writing anything.

Since I am not a university instructor, myself, I have a near-zero propensity for thinking before I write. My words flow freely and unconsciously. it's the American way.
