I don't know much about computers and I don't want to buy the game if I can't run it on the computer.

Which Mac do you have?
If its less than a year old, you should be able to with no problem.
It also depends if the game you buy is Mac compatiable.
A quick search online said:
"A Mac version of "The Sims 2" has been contracted to Aspyr. The conversion is under development by Aspyr's development team. The Mac version is scheduled to ship June 13, 2005."
So, the big factors involved are:
If your Mac is less than 18 months old (give or take), and if you have the Mac version of SIMS 2.

If you answer yes to both questions, you should have no problem at all.

Your new Mac can run anything, if it has an Intel processor, even Windows XP.
