Unless you are emancipated 17 is the age at which your parent or legal guardian cannot dictate where you have to live.

Unless a minor is emancipated in some manner, the age of majority in MO (and every state) is 18. Until then, you are subject to the supervision and control of your parents. Your parents can give you permission to live somewhere other than home, provided that it’s a safe and appropriate environment, but they are still responsible for you.

18. But don't do it. Savor the time you have with your parents. Why be in a hurry, just respect them and their house and they'll give you the same. Work or go to school and save money. Go to college, that way you're still at home but not at home.
