Well...seeing that I am a Kuwaiti/American I am probably one of the first who would love to see him hanged. Or actually I would like to see him stoned. Line up everyone, each with one big stone, and let each person tell him what he did to them personally and then hit him with the stone, one stone for each person, until he dies.
He destoryed my father`s country of Kuwait and killed my innocent Kuwaiti brothers and sisters in the 1990 Gulf War. I mean we as Kuwaities didn't know if we should fight or invite them in for tea because Iraqies were our brothers until that day. It wasn't until hours later after Iraq had completely invaded and we woke up to have breakfast and realised something was really wrong.
Now my mother's country of America is fighting a war that he single handedly caused because he wouldn't let weapons inspectors in to see what he didn't have anyway. He did it on purpose and now my innocent American brothers and sisters are dying in Iraq and fighting for a country that is not worth saving.
He reined for more than 30 years. He killed anyone and everyone that didnt support him. Even his own sons, thier wives and their children. If you kill everyone that you even THINK may not be in agreement with you for 30 years who do u think will be left? Nothing but your supporters. Iraqies have been brainwashed and murdered into support for Sadam for 30 years. No one wants to see him dead except for the shiiyite and the kurds because that is who he tortured the most. But they all hate America. I personally think America should pull out and let them all kill themselves or nuke the place, clean it up and bring in the Iraqies that live outside of Iraq (educated, real human beings...not animals.)to start over again.

Saddam Hussein's government may have executed 61000 Baghdad residents, a figure much higher than previously believed, a new study suggests. So yes, He deserves the ultimate punishment for that alone in my opinion.

Saddam Hussein shouldn't be executed, that's much too good for him and only makes a martyr of him to his followers - he should be imprisoned for the rest of his life in the same conditions he used on his victims.

No, I don't think he should. I think he should be imprisoned for life believe it or not I think that if kept alive we could learn somethings about why he is the way he is. Killing him doesn't solve anything it doesn't bring back the people he killed and for him it will be over in like 2 mins.
I don't go either way on Capital Punishment, but with Saddam I think he should be kept alive.

Considering the illegality of the invasion and the fact that more people have died in Iraq because of actions taken by the USA, I think the Bushes should be tried, not Saddam Hussein.

Yes. He is a mass murderer, and executing him would be justice for all of the people and their famalies and for the destroyed lives under his regieme.
Executing him would also send a message that there is a consequence for actions, and hopefully prevent this type of thing from happening again.
I consider Hussein to be in the same category as Hitler.
He will probably wind up commiting suicide like did Hitler.

You think keeping him alive won't give insurgents someone to rally around?
It's like saying should Hitler have been executed. On the one hand, executing someone doesn't bring back the dead. On the other hand, if anyone deserves it, he does.
And remember, Napoleon ESCAPED from Elba...

I so completely agree. I mean, one minute, they are all like, we are waiting to here while Saddam would be carried out. Then, all of a sudden_BOOM! he's lifeless. i think of they permit him go or somebody died for him or something. I mean, they are former ruler is "lifeless". they might actual have pictures for each guy or woman to work out. Like they are asserting, you gotta see to have faith it. i truly think of somethings happening. enable's see what takes place.

Yes, he should be executed, for all of the horrible things he has done to his people. You're right, though, it doesn't solve anything. The situation down there, thanks to the administration's bungling, is quite possibly beyond solutions.

It may not 'solve anything' but it is what has been considered 'justice' for well over a century.
As the old time cowboy movie said, "Hang him high."
That's better treatment than he meted out to thousands of his own countrymen.
