I felt the same way for years and finally went to the dr. for a full blood screen. turns out i have epstein barr syndrome, which is basically chronic fatigue syndrome. its just a "virus" in your system that once you have you will always have. according to my dr. it is extremely common and most people never know they have it. there are active and dormant periods.. some days i feel good, others, no matter how much sleep i get, what i eat, etc.. i feel exhausted and literally have to drag myself out of bed. ask your doctor about it and they will make sure to check your blood levels. good luck.

With you stating you have thyroid nodules then that sends a warming to me. Has your thyroid been tested for being to high or to low? Normally if your thyroid is not functioning properly it will cause you to feel sluggish or tired all of the time. If it has been awhile since it's been test, then it may need to be done again.

Have your iron levels checked. Could be from a low iron count? Call you doctor.
