I think that they will make the Super Bowl and probably win it too. They have the best and most consistent defense in the NFL, and now that their bungling offensive coordinator is gone their offense keeps getting better and better. If they can get pass the pats and the chargers, they will probably win the Super Bowl. Sorry Bears fans. The Bears are only doing as well as they are because every other team in the NFC is awful.

As much as I dislike the Ravens, I have to think they're the favorite in the AFC (though Chargers fans will disagree). Both teams are more balanced than some people realize.

This has been such a bizarre NFL season, considering who beats who in a given week. The Patriots are shut out 21-0 by the Dolphins, who are shut out 21-0 the following week by the Bills. The Colts lose to Jacksonville by the score of 44-17, and then Jacksonville loses a game to Tennessee in which they allowed only 98 total yards. One week a team looks unstoppable, and the next they're upset or barely scrape by a bottom-feeder. Dogs and cats are living together!

Given all that, I won't be surprised by any team reaching and winning the Super Bowl (even an 8-8 NFC team), but I have to give the advantage to the bye teams in the more powerful AFC. That means San Diego and Baltimore. And I have to give the edge to Baltimore for two reasons. One, they beat the Chargers in Week 4. And second, Steve McNair, unlike Philip Rivers, has been through it all before. That may not be a big deal considering the young quarterbacks who have had success in recent years, but I don't see the possibility of McNair handing a game away, and I think Rivers might. In a game between the Chargers and Ravens, the game will probably come down to turnovers or pass interference calls (like so many close games do).

I think the Ravens have a decent chance. For starters, their offense plays with more confidence since the acquisition of Steve McNair. It takes some load off of their already "tight" defense. NcNair is a great leader on offense and Lewis is a great leader on defense. It's been a while since they tasted success so they'll be hungry.

With all that said, there's a big HOWEVER...

The Patriots have shown time-in and time-out that they are a force to be reckon with come play-off time. They just have a knack for turning it on to another cylinder at this time of year.

The Chargers are playing very very well and is actually the team that can truly control their destiny. Can Rivers continue to play well in the post-season considering this is his first time? With LT in the backfield it should reduce much of the stress.

Although the Colts have been on a down-ward spiral, we really can't count them out. Sure their run-stop and other aspects of their defense needs improvement, but they can put up points in a hurry. When their offense is running at all cylinders, they'll beat anyone.

The Ravens have a good chance as long as their defense controls the flow of the game, limited mistakes by McNair and a running game from Lewis.

only if they can stop LT. McNair is a good QB (I'm a Steeler fan, so for me to say that makes me grit my teeth). and with Jamal Lewis running, and Ray Lewis on Defense, the team is in good shape. The Patriots are a good match for them, but only because of their coaching (they pats are too depleted on Offense, but Brady can make things happen).

They (the Ravens) could probably win it all, if they can make it out of the AFC
