What are feeding him and how are you feeding him? Is what you are feeding him to thick? If so, trying thinning the cereal some using formula. The one thing you should not do is put cereal in the bottle. You can also try adding a little fruit with the cereal and if you are using rice cereal try a different kind such as oatmeal. Good luck

Why are you getting him out of the habit of water at night???? Its better to give him water rather than a bottle during night if you are weaning him. At 5 months maybe it is a little to early to be giving solids. Maybe go back to bottles for a few weeks then try again

Your baby has got its routine completely the wrong way round, you will need to fix this gradually and not just refuse to feed at night as your baby will then not get enough milk. Gradually give the feeds later and later, say half an hour forward for each feed every couple of days, so eventually all the feeds will be in the daytime and just the 2 at night.

My daughter is almost four months old. Recently I have been having a hard time feeding her. If i put her in my arms she will barely eat anything though I know she must be hungry because she hasnt eaten for 4-5 hours...but I discovered a trick with her....if I lay her in her carseat or swing and prop the bottle in her mouth she will guzzle the whole bottle down. I am likening her lack of wanting to eat in my arms to being to interested and excited in everything that is going on around her. Try propping the bottle in his mouth to feed and see if that helps.

also if the baby is refusing solids then it may be to early to start him on them. Here in canada it is not recommended to start solids until the baby is six months. (it used to be four but that changed) so it could be he is not ready for solids yet. Also when starting solids try things that taste good..like bananas' or peaches' all mashed up.
