Didn't you think the same way? There is cure for it though. geting older.. Don't you enjoy being older more? Kids think its a bad thing and we know better. When you were thier age, you thought adults did not understand anything and you knew the whole world. When they grow up they figure out how little they know and how far they have to go, just like we did.. LOL

Recent studies indicate the brain is not fully mature until about age 25. They can't see the forest for the trees and even then it will take some of those negetive (or positive experiences ) to make a clearing to stand in for a better view.

They don't really want advice, they want affirmation for a decision that they have already made. Don't you remember what it's like to be young? I do. We change so much between 15-25 and then again, even more between 25-35. It's amazing. My whole perspective flipped. You can't fault them. They'll be the ones shaking their heads in 10 years. :D

Hearing something and actually experiencing it are two different things. Some people have to experience it before the learn from it.
I knew everything as a kid, now the older I get the more I realize the less I know.

You cant just tell them what is right and wrong. you have to give them a different angle on which to look at the situation. set them in the police's view. your view. parents view. or a strangers view. and ask what they would do if they were that person. Young adults are affraid that they are wrong. Which in the real world they will learn they are wrong a lot. So help them understand multiple views and standpoints!!!

We have the need for independence, yet the common sense of a child. Teens are on the boundery line of responsebility. While some teens are level-headed, many aren't. So usually they act like they know everything to make them seem more adult-like and independent, when they are very insecure of themselves.

When you don't have enough experience in life to realize how much you really do not know or understand, you then believe you know it all and are invincible. Only time will bring a young person the wisdom and mortality they lack now.

Young adults want guidlines, but they still want to explore life in thier own way, and learn from thier own mistakes. That's why they are young and not fully adults yet.
