1. Call the school, and ask if that address is in its zone.
2. Ask your realtor. (The seller's realtor might lie to you).

Yes, the realtor should know the school districts, but if the school assignment would be a major factor in whether to buy or not, contact the department of education in the state of your possible move; use the website if possible. (You will then have information on all the schools and can make a more informed decision.) Because of new No Child Left Behind (NCLB) laws, all schools should have some accountability documentation. (In Louisiana where I live and teach, it's called the school Report Card.) In this documentation you should be able to find out detailed information about any school in the area, including state test results. After reading the information, you can call the school district or the school itself to ask for any clarifying information you need. However, please remember that this documentation can only tell you about measurable elements of the school. Personal visits would also be important for issues such as school climate, resources, etc.

Most realtors will be able to tell you. When people put their house up for sale it's always asked. Or, those little fliers outside the homes (if they restock) they almost always tell you. It's probably more important than a washer & dryer now a days. Wouldn't know, I don't have kids.
My granddad is in realestate. That's how I know. He pointed it out when he helped us buy our house.

Your realtor should be able to give you that information.
What you really want to know, though, isn't which school but the reputation of that school. So, ask the sellers and/or any of the neighbours.

call the school district to find out.
Some students at our school district will have to go to school across town although they live a rocks throw away.
There are many angry parents right now because they purchased their home so their children could attend that particular school.
